About The Regional Branch Organizer

AFG logo DTC Regional Branch North America

Agile Fractal Grid has been appointed as the Regional Branch Organizer for the Northeast United States to facilitate regional Digital Twin Consortium® activities.

The Agile Fractal Grid program emphasizes real world energy programs using engineers and subject matter experts to build real-time applications that improve planning, engineering, construction, and operations of networks of microgrids that adhere to the patterns of nature for massive deployments.

Some of our RBO activities have included a large-scale workshop for planning a statewide Distributed Services Operator function for expanding integrated systems planning for an entire state.  This included the Distributed Energy Resources Management System and Market Operations supporting “behind the meter” automation services providers and independent power providers.  This level of support is designed to accelerate the unfolding of the intent behind the FERC 2222 plan for the future of the power grid in the U.S.

Other workshops are planned for the rollout of green hydrogen creation without the need for electrolysis but close to the locations where the energy storage and refueling takes place.  Digital twins are featured for the advanced manufacturing stage of readiness for mass production as well as real-time monitoring, control, and optimization for participating distributed production sites.

Another upcoming workshop is planned to support the creation of new approaches for green logistics centers featuring a transition to both EV and hydrogen-based transportation modes.  Large scale planning will include airports, seaports, multimodal rail centers, and smart trucking depots for large cities.    When synchronized with city transportation plans, many issues surrounding congestion, precision delivery tracking, environmental factors, and outright costs of operation are resolved.

Whether you are planning and building fractal microgrids or creating operational environments, the AFG Mass Customization Center will assist you in each step of the life cycle. The Mass Customization Network is currently under development but will be initially used for smart buildings, microgrids, transportation centers, and Hydrogen Hub deployments where hydrogen is an integral part of the solution.

Agile Fractal Grid’s CEO, John Reynolds, currently serves as the co-chair of the Natural Resources Working Group and the Telecommunications Working Group in the Digital Twin Consortium®.

He was also the key contributor to “Buildings as Batteries” Technology Showcase and the corresponding chapter on “Buildings as Batteries” in a forthcoming book on digital twins being published by the DTC.
